For eBay starters, I am going to write about identifying the proper market for your products after you have decided the products to sell. Actually, it is very simple task. First, register with eBay for displaying and selling your product.

Follow the simple instructions for registering at eBay. Are you wondering about the next step? It is even simpler. You would sell only the products that you are quite knowledgeable of. Come up with a list of ideas, importance, interesting subjects and topics that you can think about your product.

It is not tough at all. I'm here to come up with ideas you can write about. For instance, you may be selling stationery items like pens & pencils, geometry boxes, canvas, paints, watercolors, oil paints and so on. You can come up with the ideas, interests or hobbies relevant to the product: writing letters, gifting them to your kids or your friend's kids on their birthdays, drawing, painting, oil-painting, teaching, workshops and so on.

Attracting the visitors of the auction site would be your next step. You can attract the eBay users, who use these products extensively give your products a proper market. However, it needs bit of homework from your side.

Homework does not mean doing calculations. You need to know your CUSTOMER'S PULSE. For this, you need not touch your customer physically. Place yourself in the customer's shoes to know them better.

One good place to know what is hot on eBay currently is to visit eBay pulse page. This is a page created by eBay showing the most watched items. These items reflect what are hot in the market. You can get some good information by checking out the sellers' store and other items on sale. The other way that you can do your market research is to look at the completed items history. Ebay keeps completed listing data for a period of time and you can utilize this data to your advantage. By analyzing these, you will know what the average price for a particular item and how many bids they attracted in the auction.

You need to understand the type of customer and their background like interests and dislikes, if they are single or married, income & age range, and other important and relevant information. Create a complete record on the prospective customers in your market.

Are you thinking why you need to do this? You would understand this when you start writing sales pitch articles. Your sales pitch writing would attract the appropriate kind of eBay users. This is one of the most efficient tactics to increase your sales.
