If you are a stay at home mom you may be getting the urge to do something more with yourself. You may want to make a bit of money while staying at home with the kids all day. One of the best ways for any stay at home mom to make money is by using eBay. This may sound a bit far fetched but the fact of the matter is that thousands of people have turned eBay into a full time job. And to take this a step further, there are many people who have become millionaires by using eBay to buy and sell items. If you work hard at it, you can be next in line for the profits that are being made on eBay everyday of the week.

At this point you may be wondering how eBay can make you money. This is something that a lot of people have on their mind. Using eBay to make money is quite simple. You will list items for sale and then wait for other people to bid on them or purchase at a predetermined price.

But in order to get started with this you will need to have items that you can place for sale on eBay. There are a few ways that you can go about getting these items.

1. To find items to sell on eBay you may want to become a regular at garage sales and flea markets in your area. At these events you can buy items very cheap and then turn around and sell them for a large profit on eBay. This is one option that a lot of stay at home moms opt for when looking for items that they can sell on eBay

2. Another option to consider is making your own products and then listing them on eBay. For instance, some people make crafts such as candles and then list them for sale. You may not think that there is a large audience for this type of thing but there are many people that make a lot of money doing just that.

3. Stay at home moms can get their start on eBay by selling items that they have laying around the house. Chances are that your garage or attic is full of junk that you no longer use. But just because you think that the items you have are junk does not mean that somebody else will. By just selling items that you have in your home you may be able to get your start on eBay. And with the money that you initially make, you can then in turn buy more items. Pretty soon you will notice that your profits are growing.

Earning money is the whole point of an online business and every webmaster with an ebusiness is looking for ways to boost their sales. Internet sales can be a tricky thing, but if you know what you are doing, you can ensure that your sales rates increase steadily instead of jumping up and down randomly. This article will provide some tips for improving your internet sales.

- Avoid traffic exchanges and traffic boosting services. They might raise your hits level, but these are not customers, they are simply other webmasters trying to earn hits for their own websites or surfers who are receiving a tiny percentage of what you pay in order to get them to visit. This is not targeted traffic, which is what you need in order to sell.

- Offer high quality products and services. If you ignore your customers complaints or offer inferior quality products, you will not get repeat sales and your word of mouth advertising will be non-existent. By responding quickly to comments or complaints that your clients have, and giving them great products, you will boost your reputation in your niche and quickly gain not only repeat sales but new ones from the friends and associates of previous customers.

- Start an affiliate program. There is nothing like a host of salespeople out there promoting your product to get things moving. While you should always do some promotion yourself, it really does help to have other people involved. And since you only pay for results, you will never be money out of pocket! PayDotCom and Clickbank offer easy to use services for setting up your own affiliate program.

- Write some articles. Article marketing is one of the most overlooked forms of boosting sales online. You are basically selling your product in the article, although it should be informative to everyone. For example, you write about how to choose the right web host, listing features to look for, etc. Then at the end of the article, you add a link to your web hosting service, which just happens to have all the features mentioned in the article! It is a pre-sale and can be extremely useful when used with discretion.

- Hold a contest. You can offer a grand prize to the winner. People get an entry into your draw or contest for every $10 they spend or every purchase they make, which encourages them to buy now instead of waiting and thinking about it.

- Build a reputation. If you have a good reputation as being an expert in your niche area, people will want to buy from you. They will trust you. You can build your reputation through ebooks, articles and offering high quality goods and information on your own website.

- Start an opt in list. By offering a weekly or monthly newsletter, you are reminding your customers that you are around. You can also use this to let people know that you have new products and bring them back to the site. This is an excellent way to keep in touch with previous customers and encourage repeat sales.

By following the tips above, you should see results fairly quickly. You might not boost your sales through the roof immediately, but you will see a steady improvement and that is what counts in the long run. It just takes patience and some hard work.

Given the innumerable number of web hosts dying to take your money in exchange for their services, you might be exasperated at the need to choose one over the other. How do you tell the good from the bad? You could spend the hours pouring over their web pages and looking for testimonials from previous, pleased users, but then why would a business put a less than satisfactory testimony on their web site? Instead of looking for evidence of good service, it is far more expedient to look for evidence of bad service. The following article will provide you with the tools to find that evidence.

If you are looking over a sight and do not see a prominently displayed comprehensive support page, or does not provide a support telephone number, you alarm bells should be ringing. Since this is something that is relatively easy to discover, it is a good place to start your investigation. For an example, imagine that your have (or, perhaps you actually do have) a web host that doesn't return your calls or answer your emails. Is that good service? No!

It's time to start looking for a new web host, one that has a support staff that actually does its work. In broad terms, it is safe to say that the better support a web host is providing, the better overall host it is. This is because support helps you in times of crisis, when a server goes down or your shopping cart isn't working properly good support will fix it quickly. How does this help you if don't already subscribe to a hosts service? Well, for one thing is, you can call the support number listed on their site and see if it is very hard to get a real, living, human being on the other side of the line. If it is, then it probably still will be when you are a subscriber.

Another thing to look at is how much a web host chargers. Cheap per month hosts likely cut their costs to ensure that they are able to make a profit. If you look around and come across a deal that is too sweet to be real, then it probably is. Keep looking. But the best way to judge a company is to see if it is turning a profit. If you come across a web host company that is publicly traded, go look up its earnings over the last several quarters. If the earnings have been good, then you can probably trust the competence of the company.

If you are reading about some scandal or takeover happening at the offices of your web host, you might want to change to a new one. More often than not, when web hosts are getting press it is because they are screwing up.

After you've chosen a host, make sure to keep an eye on what they are offering you, and for what price, over time. It is a trait of bad hosts to increase charges over time, at the same time as they start stopping services. If there is a price increase that you can't find a good justification for, change hosts.

Finally, remember that you ought keep an eye on what your host is doing. Although most web hosts are less than forthcoming about the inner workings of their business, you should keep your eyes peeled so that you can know well before disaster strikes. Then you can change your website over to another host before it goes offline and you can't salvage it at all.

One of the most important factors in an Internet business and one that is getting a lot of emphasis and a lot of help is the idea that customers want to be engaged. They dont want to be receptacles for the information of the Internet business. Instead they want to be able to converse in real time, to offer their ideas and have them heard and to be able to make purchases instantaneously. They want instant access to the Internet home business staff, to its sales staff, its customer service staff and perhaps most importantly, its technical support or help desk.

Technical vendors offer a lot of opportunity for an Internet business owner to offer this interactivity and engagement and at little cost and virtually no risk. Some products such as live chat and click to call can be purchased as a revenue share. What this means is that the home business owner can collaborate with a vendor to offer these services and let the vendor take a portion of the proceeds that these products help bring in the door.

A live chat feature on a home business Web site can give an entrepreneur an incredible competitive advantage. A consumer who has a question can simply click on the live chat and converse with the business representative in real time. Some of the latest presence aware products are great for the small Internet home business owner who doesnt have the staff to offer live chat. What the presence aware function does is signal the system when the business is available for a chat and display the icon on the site but remove the icon when no one is there for a chat.

Click to call is just what the name suggests. With just a click of the mouse on the site of the Internet business a consumer can call a business representative by phone from her or his computer at no charge to the consumer.

Other interactive offerings that help an Internet home business merchant make that sale are Buy Now and Ask the Seller features. Buy Now is an ecommerce function that lets the consumer add items to her or his shopping cart, check out and make a credit card payment all from the Internet. Other handy features allow consumers to rate a product or a merchant.

All these interactive and engaging features offer the consumer the instant gratification folks have come to expect from the Web and offer the Internet home business owner instant payment and thats all terrific.

Have you thought about opening up your own jewelry store? These days it is easier than ever with the internet. You can now open your own online jewelry store even if you don't own a piece of jewelry, as a matter of fact you can own your on store online and never stock a single piece of jewelry. In the age of marketing on the internet you can now have a store up and running ready to do business in under a day. You could literally start in the morning and be collecting sales by the afternoon; all you have to do is market your new store so people know how to find you.

The first thing you will want to do will be to find jewelry wholesalers to get your jewelry from for resale. To be able to put your business on autopilot without a lot of upfront expenses like I mentioned above you should seek a wholesale supplier that is willing to drop ship straight to your clients. This is truly a beautiful thing, you never have to deal with the customers, you never stock merchandise, all you do is collect the money and the wholesaler does the rest! Just get your website up and market it, get visitors coming to your site, when they order the orders are automatically forwarded to the supplier who then fulfills the orders for you. How sweet is that?

When you first get started many wholesalers will require you to pay for the merchandise upfront or pay a deposit to get started doing business with them. Paying upfront really isn't a big deal since you get paid before by the customer when they place the order, you send the supplier the wholesale amount for the item and you keep the difference.

With most suppliers you are allowed to set your own prices so you can charge whatever the market will bear, but some will make you stay within certain parameters especially if you are marketing a line that bears their name and you are mentioning the name in your marketing and advertising.

If you are brand new to the internet and are unfamiliar with how to set up a website there are many suppliers who offer turnkey packages where you can just input some personal information and be up and running immediately. Usually these companies will charge you for the service and it can be a one time fee or a monthly fee. One problem that I don't like about these kinds of sites is that they usually all look alike and you really want your site to stand out.

An option I would consider is to set up a store through eBay. They do charge for the service but they allow you a lot of customization that will make your store unique and original. This is one of the easiest and quickest ways to get a business online today.

An online home business may seem to many the perfect solution for working at home and running their own business. For many it is. However, an online home business is just as much work and perhaps even more than a brick and mortar storefront business. It takes as much forethought and as much business planning, though probably not nearly as much money.

What can be frustrating about an online business is learning the technical ins and outs of getting the business Web site set up, buying the right hardware and software, learning the jargon and finding the right people to keep it running when the owner often doesn't know what to even look for in a technical specialist.

If someone is not a geek, but knows the basic of computer use and computer language and has a good idea with sound business planning, they can succeed in an online business.

According to extensive research, the things that sell best on the Internet are computers and computer-related products, books, travel and travel-related businesses, clothes, music, gifts and financial investments.

Someone might start an internet business selling e-books or print on demand books – especially in the areas of self-help or how to. They might sell consulting services, information about entertainment and local or regional getaways or offer products in an online auctions. Another lucrative online home business is writing for the Web.

Many manufacturers have ready made small ticket items that they offer for distributorships and some even help the entrepreneur set up her or his Web site. Many even offer drop ship services so the start up home business owner doesn't need to go out and buy an extensive inventory when he first lunched his home business.

What's important to know about an online business before an entrepreneur makes the decision to start one is the startup costs involved, how much labor and the type of business, the quality of the manufacturer's products if selling someone else's products, the competition the firm will be facing, the size of the market, how profitable it is likely to be, the customer support that would be needed, the regulatory and licensing issues, the costs of such things as inventory, shipping, maintenance and repairs, the likelihood of repeat business and loyal customers and the potential for cross selling and upselling.

The bottom line, of course, is that an online home business should be about doing and selling what the owner believes in and enjoys being a part of. That's what makes it rewarding.

When you have a small home based business and you are basically just starting, there are many ways to make a large leap ahead. One of these great methods is to sell online merchandise. An online store can be set up relatively easy and e-commerce has been proven to be quite successful. There are many sites online these days that make e-commerce an excellent decision for your business.

Microsoft now offers a great service known as Bcentral and is offering great deals on server and hosting packages that run on a monthly scale or basis. This is a great tool for individuals that is looking to delve into the e-commerce field. If you have an idea for a catalog and need tools to get it up and running such as templates and logo creators this could be the solution you've been waiting for. Not only will you receive the templates and the graphic creators but also you will receive the quaint shopping cart in the top right hand side of the page. Having the opportunity to track and control orders and sales is made very easy as you will receive automated conformation through e-mail. Being able to become a member in the PayPal system is also a good idea as you can never have enough payment options attached to your site. This just increases your chances of sales. You will also be given the opportunity to keep track of customer traffic to your site as well. This makes for a very handy service indeed.

Another great service is provided by Ebay, the stores offer a very popular alternative and have a sliding fee scale to fit most business needs and budgets. The basis service is for the smaller of the businesses that have a smaller volume of traffic. This does not mean that you will not have access to some great tools for your site. You will not be able to keep track of the flow of traffic or sales with this service and there is a very limited directory, yet it is still a good service for someone who is just starting out. The next level of the ebay service will provide more for the business that may be needed as time goes on. It places your priorities in relation to the product you are trying to sell. Knowing exactly what the consumer is looking for makes it easy for them to adjust your targeted areas. You will get some traffic reports and sales figures but not many. The third and final level of the ebay store program is exactly where you want your business to be placed. This is the premier spot or the center stage. This is the place where the bulk of the strongest traffic will be located. This will give you a much stronger shot at making those sales.

In order to be successful as a niche marketer and be able to compete with other marketers you have to be able to find wholesale sources to buy your niche products from that still leave you enough room to mark up for profit while remaining competitive.

Before you begin looking all the way to China for low cost wholesalers check locally first. It just makes good sense. If you buy your products from overseas you are going to pay large shipping charges which will affect the amount you can charge and still make a profit. You may find that when everything is added up those long distance wholesalers may not be that great a deal, take the time to compare.

You generally will not find wholesalers advertised on TV or in normal print media because they aren't looking for the end user, they are looking for you, the middleman. Still, it is relatively easy to find the sources if you know where to get started. Here are some ideas to help you.

My first suggestion is of course, the internet. I live online and I can't imagine having to find anything using anything else to find what I need. There are even search engines that are wholesale specific bringing back only results that are related to wholesale inquiries. You can find these search engines by simply typing in 'wholesale search engine' in your browser search bar.

You can also look for trade associations that the wholesaler may belong to in the niche you are wanting to market. If you plan to market a particular product on a regular basis you should probably join a trade association yourself which will give you access to a wealth of information that can help you to find the wholesale sources you are seeking.

Be a little subversive and look at the packaging on products that you would like to sell that may be at your local competitor. Find the contact information or a website where you can reach the company with a wholesale inquiry.

Once you have done the preliminary research and have compiled a list of possible companies that you can purchase from wholesale you will now want to research their histories, policies, and reputations. Don't neglect this step it can save you a lot of money and headaches in the future by avoiding companies that are rip offs. Also pay particular attention to their billing and payment terms. It is advantageous if you can find one that bills 30 to 60 days out that way you can get the item and possibly have it sold before you even have to pay for it.

If you have had made the decision to get online and are looking for business web hosting to get your regular brick and mortar business on the internet, congratulations, it's about time!
Seriously, if you don't have a web presence for your business on the internet you are missing out on a lot of business and much of it is free!

With the proliferation of business web hosting companies available to choose from it can be a confusing process to sort through them all but if you just take it a step at a time and first identify the web hosting needs for your business it will be easier. You need to ask yourself questions such as, "Do I need a dedicated server or can I get by with a shared server?" Unless you do a large volume of business on the internet chances are you don't need a dedicated server, which can cost you anywhere from $150 to $500 a month. Most businesses can get by with just a regular shared server or virtual server and have web hosting expenses under $30 a month. The price will vary from around $10 a month to as much as $50 depending on how much bandwidth and disk space you need.

If all you are doing is basically putting up an informational site or a blog about your business you will not require much space and probably not a shopping cart although I cannot imagine putting a business website up without one.

Don't deal with any fly by night web hosting companies that are running their hosting out of their bedroom. You want to be able to get 24/7 support in case you have any problems and you want to be sure that they have minimal or nonexistent down time. Remember that if their servers are down so is your business website. Make sure they have a money back guarantee, all of the reputable web hosting providers do. The company should also make it very easy for you to upgrade or downgrade your services and most will offer you a discount if you pay annually or quarterly instead of monthly. This can make a large difference in your annual web hosting expenses so definitely check into it.

The choice of a business web hosting company is not one to be taken lightly. As we move more and more into the progression of total internet business that is sure to come it will become even more crucial to have the right web hosting, it can very well be a life or death decision for your business.

As an Internet marketing professional, one truth of the business is that when your Website doesn't work, you have no business. Server interruptions can cost serious Internet Marketers thousands of dollars in just a few hours of down time.

Funny enough, most marketers don't have a backup plan in place when a server goes down and the money making entity, namely your Website is not accessible by existing and potential customers.

Here are three vital steps you must take to keep your online business running smoothly:

Step 1: Your Support Should Be On a Different Server or Host

When your business Website server goes down, there is not much you can do about it. It is a fact of doing business online, and unless you actually own your servers and pay an employee to maintain them, you are at the mercy of your hosting company.

Savvy Internet marketers know the importance of having customer service and support areas of the Website hosted on a different server or with a different hosting service altogether.

This means that if the main site goes down, the support site does not. Existing and potential clients can still access certain parts of your site such as their accounts. You can also use the support section of your Website to post alerts about the server situation on the rest of the site.

By keeping customer service and support services on a separate server or host, you are assured that you still have a certain level of continuity and communication with your customers, without dropping off the face of the Internet altogether.

Step 2: Choose a Hosting Company that Offers Auto Backup Service

Many quality hosting companies offer a backup service. This can work in one of two ways. The economy version of backup services means that your host will regularly (usually daily) and automatically back up the entire contents of your Website.

This means that if the server outage is severe and any of your Website content is lost or corrupted, your host has a recent and full back-up of the entire site that can be reinstalled when the server issue is fixed.

The better version of back-up services means that the hosting company actually has a mirror site so that if a server goes down, a visitor is automatically and seamlessly forwarded to the mirror site, which is an exact replica of your original site.

This type of service generally costs more money but if your livelihood depends on your site being up and accessible at all times, it may be well worth the extra money.

Step 3: Keep Off-Server Customer Information

You would not believe how many Internet marketers do not keep hard copy information of their customer database on a local computer. How silly is that? If the server goes down and damage is done, all this valuable information could be lost.

Furthermore, you need to be able to reach important clients when your server goes down. You need to make it a critical task to continually back up your customer information including name, address, telephone number, and email address and order history.

This way, when your servers go down, you can contact and reassure customers that you are working diligently to resolve the situation and your customers will feel connected and valued.

Home business opportunities are growing each and every day. There are many wonderful qualities associated with home businesses, which make them a tempting job option for many individuals. Some home businesses revolve around one particular type of good or service whereas others focus on many different areas. With the frequent use of the Internet by individuals, it is no wonder that online auctions provide a viable work opportunity for home-based businesses. There are quite a few online auction job opportunities, which one can get involved in working from home.

Selling Items through Online Auctions

One way to make some extra money from the comfort of your own home is by selling items through online auctions. Many individuals turn this sale of goods into a home business and actually purchase items to be sold online. The amount of money which one is able to make via online auctions will vary based upon the auction avenue used, type of goods for sale, the demand for the sale item and whether there is a reserve placed on the bidding amount. This is a great option for home business owners as they can determine just how much income potential is available to them through online auctions. There are a few different online auction companies, which one can affiliate them with and the one that is chosen depends on the desire of the individual.

Listing Items for Sale on Online Auctions

Some individuals also make their living from their home by listing products, which are to be sold at online auctions. These individuals will work for other people or companies who sell large quantities of items via online auctions and will be the workers responsible for describing the articles for sale. With online auctions it is crucial that the description provided for each item is accurate, interesting and complete. This will help to determine whether or not an item will be sold and how quickly it will be sold.

Work Directly with an Online Auction Company

Another option for individuals hoping to work from home in the area of online auctions is to work directly for the online auction company. These companies have many different positions, which need to be filled, and some of these positions are ones, which can be completed by employees in their own homes. Telecommuting from home and working for an online auction company in one of many different positions enables the worker to dabble in online auction business yet never have to leave their home.

$300 for an e-book! Are these people out of their minds? No, they are just greed filled vultures. How do you know that?

Well, in the Holy Scriptures in Romans 1:28 it says: "Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done." (NIV)

Right now as we speak self-proclaimed internet experts on the internet are charging $300, $500, and up to $1500.- maybe even more at the outset of this writing, for a mere e-book! A book!

Don't you for one minute consider buying one!

Popular books by noted author's like C.S. Lewis sell in mint condition for around $40.- max at the book stores. I'm not talking about 1st Editions of course.

Greed. Greed. Greed. It's all about greed. If your an expert, fine. If your a genuine Donald Trump Millionaire expert, fine. But where on the planet do you get the idea that it is ok to charge $300 for your e-book?

It's not ok, and these experts, and they really are noted minds in their field, are charging outrageous fees for their work. One noted internet marketer is charging upwards of $500 a month to people so that he can share his internet marketing secrets.

I'm sorry dude, but you're not that good. Even if you can teach me how to make a million dollars in one minute, you're not that good.

Pride. Pride. Pride. So great, I make my million dollars in a minute, but what about the 80% of people who do nothing when they buy into a program? You've just robbed them blind. You've hurt them where it counts the most-in the family finances.

But hey, let's not think about that, right? Just keep robbing the pockets of the average person to make your millions. I was on a conference call recently where the gentleman said: "If you're faint of heart about high prices, I encourage you to get off the phone."
Dang dude, I didn't hang up the phone, but I wanted too!

Lastly, then everyone needs to watch out for the scam by these same artists, and granted these are not no-names, these are good, wholesome, sometimes even professed Christians, I'm sad to say, authors, who are charging $300 and up for their e-books! I'll say it again! You're not that good and you're not worth it!

As my pastor often says, "You're not all that."
I just hope we can get back to reasonable prices out there on the world wide web. Sure you're an expert. Sure you can teach me how to change and rock my world. But dude, you are not worth $300.- I don't care WHO you are.

Lastly, if you are one of these greedy vultures, please reconsider your enormous pricing! Many of you are feeding off of 50-55 year old men and women who are just trying to find another way to make it other than Social Security. Your $300.- E-book is NOT the way!

I say to these vultures, the next time you're on your way to the bank to cash someone's $300 paypal payment, consider you're income source. Your being paid by the father of all lies-lucifer. No doubt about it.

How do I know? The God of this world has blinded you're eyes. Love the sinner, HATE the sin. If you are an expert in you're field, and you have the audacity to charge $300, $500, and even $1200 for your e-book, and you stand in our face as a smiling Christian saying that it's ok to charge these fees, you're simply a liar sir.

In Proverbs 20:17 it says, "Food gained by fraud tastes sweet to a man, but he ends up with a mouth full of gravel."

So, go ahead, charge the daylights out of everyone on the net, and laugh you're way to the bank. But just remember that in the end you're going to have to give an account of everyone you affected in this world.

The Solution? Lower the prices of your e-books internet experts! Truly, if you can teach us something of value, you deserve maybe $50.- at best. But if you're charging $49.- you better be the best on God's green earth.

Remember one thing, you've written a book, and you have no right to take away people's car payments in the process. Rest assured, you'll answer to God one day for all of it. Hope you're ready.

Making these seven business mistakes can spell doom for your business website. The competition grows daily on the internet. Avoid these mistakes, and you will be better able to compete in an ever growing environment of competition on the internet.

1)Infrequent updating- In order to keep the visitors who come to your business website coming back, you have to provide a flow of additional or updated information that will maintain their interest and give them a reason to return. Aside from that, if you don't update your website for a period of time, it is likely the search engine robots will lose interest and your positioning could fall.

2) JavaScript pop ups- Javascript popups can be overdone. There is no getting around the fact that they are useful to your business, but if you want to keep visitors you need to use some common sense. Don't overdo popups, and have them set so they don't keep popping up and irritating the same visitor over and over. Also, make sure that the visitor can find a way to close it, or they may not return again.

3) Heavy graphics- Keep graphics to a reasonable level. Too many graphics, and large graphics will create slow loading of pages. This is especially annoying for those who are still on dial-up connections. Flash is another thing to be avoided. These sites look great, there's no getting around that fact. However, we live in a world where people expect everything in a hurry. That extra entry page may look wonderful, but a lot of people will just leave. Most of these pages offer no information and do nothing but tickle the eye of the viewer.

4) Overuse of intense colors- Using color is about balance. Some bright color can liven up a website, but overuse is hard on the eyes. Reading online is more difficult than reading a book in any case, don't make it more difficult. Keep bright colors in areas that don't require long term reading. This will brighten the page without creating a strain on visitor's eyes.

5) Too much clutter- Leave some white space here and there, and don't jam your pages full to the brim. If you need more space, create another page.

6) Complicated navigation- Keep your navigation simple and easy to use. You want visitors to travel throughout your site. Make it easy for them. This will get more of your pages viewed which is to your benefit. And once they've moved on to another page, make it easy for them to return if they choose.

7) Balance content- The idea of a business website is to make money, but provide value and a reasonable amount of content on your pages along with the advertisements. Print magazines are a good example of what not to do. The next time you are reading a print magazine, notice how little content in the form of information they provide in relation to advertising. Keep a balance on your website. Provide something of value to the visitors to your business website.

One of the biggest breakthroughs in the world of the Internet is the conception of the eCommerce business. What started originally as a small time operation where each Internet provider partnered with certain companies and billed purchases to the customers Internet bill has now exploded into a worldwide operation where people can buy everything from music to clothing to food to cars and even houses.

There is very little territory that has not been tapped but that does not mean that the market is saturated as it is with other markets because customers are fickle for the most part. Unless you offer something unique, the customer is going to continue to look around for a better price, different color or even different style.

The inception of the Internet has created a world of Internet addicts who may spend hours just trying to find a particular purse in a color that is exactly what they want. What does that mean for the would be entrepreneur? It opens a new opportunity for him to own his own business without having to concern himself with the expense of a brick and mortar store.

Instead of going into a store every day and being faced with irate customers, disgruntled employees and much more, you can sit and relax while people visit your website and purchase the products they want. There is no need for inventory but you may choose to have the more popular items available for immediate delivery.

Even better, you can partner with someone else and become a reseller and you do not even have to do the shipping and handling. The advent of eCommerce gives new entrepreneurs a choice in how they run their businesses and that of itself, means more opportunities for everyone. The advent of eCommerce also opened up more in the area of competition for online sellers.

Everyone knows that competition is good for business and it keeps competitors on their toes, always trying to out do the next retailer. That means each person in the business must perform to the ultimate edge if they expect to draw more sales than their competitors. Unlike the brick and mortar store, online shoppers are fickle and if they can not find what they want in one place at the price they want to pay, they will go to the next online store.

With so many online stores, customers do not feel the need to pledge loyalty to one retailer or reseller, so if you want repeat business, you need to offer service and prices that are unique to that of your competitors. Its not impossible to do but you have to be willing to do the work in order to make your eCommerce business better than that of others selling similar products.

As global online business continues to increase, expand and refine, the traditional and conventional methods of 'doing business online' are starting to fall by the way-side. Here is one more example. Pop-up and traditional currency converters are now something of the past... FOR GOOD!

Pop-up currency converters, typically requiring 5-6 clicks to reveal the price for just one web site product, have annoyed, distracted and frustrated customers to such an extent that businesses around the world are seeking an alternative.

Today, these cries for help have finally been answered by multi-currency display systems.

Multi currency display systems allow web sites to show ALL of their web site product prices in the web site visitor's currency.

This allows visitors to instantly see product prices in a way that is meaningful to them - in their currency language. It's instantaneous, easy to use and meets visitors' needs at the exact time they need it.

Taking just minutes to install with only one line of code needed, businesses around the world are discovering the many benefits of multi-currency display systems, benefits that will continue to multiply for many years to come.

Why all the fuss?

As you know, what worked in the 90s doesn't cut it for web site visitors today. Visitors are now more demanding than ever.

Pop-up currency converters were used in the past not because they were proven to be effective, but simply because there was no other alternative.

They were a first-stab attempt at making global business somehow 'work' at a time when everything was new and uncharted in online business.

With any new industry, as time moves on, significant advances are achieved that make the old obsolete versions seem quaint.

Though ask yourself this... Rather than attracting sales, are those quaint pop-up converters causing lost sales?

Requiring visitors to perform 5 to 6 steps every time they want to know the price of just one product is a lot to ask of them.

How much of their spare time do you think they will waste calculating prices on a web site before thinking... "forget it, it's all too hard, this web site doesn't value my business, I'll go to that next site that's listed in Google instead"

Oops, there goes another lost sale... all because of the pop-up!

Imagine what a difference those extra sales would make to your bottom line?

Now, the multi-currency display systems are empowering businesses around the world with the competitive edge they need to win back international business.

No longer are the old foreign currency exchange and conversion tools ruling the markets. The tables are turned and the tides are changing forever. Pop-up currency converters are biting the dust daily. They are no longer the online tool of choice. They continue to give up ground, even being replaced by multi-currency display systems as we speak, on myriads of existing and new websites around the globe.

Today, the timely, efficient and automatic benefits of multi-currency display systems are opening a wide world of opportunity, promise and potential for the globalized economy.

Switching web hosts should not be such a difficult thing to do smoothly and with minimal hassles. Yet the truth is that usually plenty of things do end up going wrong and the probability of a site being down for several days during a change over is very high and tends to happen rather frequently.

Still by taking a couple of simple precautions you can easily avoid all the common pitfalls that often accompany a simple change over.

The first thing that you must never forget is the fact that you have to establish a new hosting account long before closing your old web hosting one. In fact you should even go further and ensure that your old web host keeps a copy of your site for several weeks after the switch. There are some important technical reasons for this, which I will now go into.

Firstly, it takes a couple of hours, and this can stretch into a day or so, to establish a new hosting account. If you have shut down everything at your old hosts, then it means that your site will not be live or reachable by any of your visitors during those hours or days it takes you to establish the new account.

Secondly the reason for keeping a copy of your site with your old host for a couple of weeks after you have changed hosts, has to do with something called DNS. DNS stands for domain name server. It is critical for anybody in the web hosting business to understand that computers do not use domain names to trace websites. Instead IP addresses are used. To perform the conversion and find the domain name that has been requested, a number of computers are usually involved which act as domain name servers that are able to attach certain IP addresses to specific domain names that have been requested. A DNS cannot handle all conversions so what happens is that it converts local domain names on which it has information on and passes on others to the next DNS. This will continue until the information reaches a DNS capable of making the conversion.

Now when you make a switch, it will take a while for all domain name servers to update their information on you. So some domain name servers will initially refer surfers to your old host. What this means is that if everything has been shut down then the surfer will get a page not found error message. This is precisely why it is advisable to keep a copy of your site with the old host for a few weeks after the switch to a new host so as to ensure a smooth transition free of any glitches.

Actually the root cause of most trouble when webmasters and site owners are switching hosts is that most people are very upset at the time of the switch and just want to get rid of their old host as soon as they possibly can. This emotional approach when switching web hosts can be extremely damaging and should be avoided at all costs.

If I've never told you before, I'm a big fan of eBay's About Me feature.

This is a special page you can create as part of your eBay account and which is linked from your eBay ID via the About Me icon -

eBay members can click on your About Me icon to get to your About Me page. You can set up this page to show information about you, your interests, and even links to your website. Plus, you can use your eBay About Me page as a sales tool.

Not only is it a great way to get personal with your customers, to convey your integrity and professionalism, you can use your About Me page to drive traffic to your website or other online businesses.

However, you need to be slightly careful as eBay does not approve of blatant advertising on your About Me page. However, you can include links to products and services that you think will be of interest to the eBay community at large. The only consideration here is that you should not link directly to a sales page, you need to go via a squeeze page i.e. an explanatory page emphasising the benefits of the product, and inviting the reader to click through to the sales page.

If the sales page just happens to be to an affiliated product that pays you a commission, that's good for you!

Your About Me page can be as simple or as detailed as you like.

You can see my own About Me page here http://members.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=gbm0

Here's how you can create your own eBay About Me page.

1. Register for an eBay account. If you're already an eBay member you can skip this step. If you don't have a free eBay account you can register below:

If you're in the UK, go here http://www.workwinners.com/eBay_co_uk_application.htm

If you're in USA, go here http://www.workwinners.com/eBay_com_application.htm

2. Once you're registered, log into your eBay account by clicking the "My eBay" link at the top of any eBay page. Enter your eBay user name and password.

3. Once you're logged in, click the "Personal Information" link under "My Account" in the left hand menu.

4. At the Personal Information page click to create your About Me page.

5. Once you're at the About Me creation page simply follow the directions. You can use the About Me wizard to create the page, or paste in custom HTML as I have done with my About Me page. If you're not familiar with HTML coding, you'll find a useful free HTML tutorials

Once you have your About Me page set up, you should include a link to it in every auction and sale you do.

After all, it's free advertising, so why not use it!

As you will know, eBay gets serious traffic. In fact, something like 2 million individual buyers visit eBay each day ready to make bids and purchases online.

And eBay is more than just oddities and collectibles - it is huge, huge business. In the first quarter of 2006, eBay members sold around $12.5 billion dollars worth of goods and services to over 193 million registered users.

What I find difficult to understand is why businesses of all sizes don't use eBay more as an additional channel to sell their wares.

If you have expertise in selling on eBay, then you are nicely positioned to take that experience and apply it to the benefit of your business or your employer's business.

If you own a business which doesn't use eBay, you really should be putting your eBay skills to good use. Or if you work for a company, why not offer an eBay service to your employer in return for a commission or other payment?

This doesn't mean that anyone should neglect their current marketing and sales methods and transfer everything to eBay. eBay should be viewed as a new and different channel to market. As you know, eBay is a receptive market which is massive, and upon which there are many ways to make it work for your business or your employer's company.

If you're the owner or employee in a bricks-and-mortar business such as a retail outlet, eBay can be a great source of extra sales.

Since you're already buying wholesale for your local market, it doesn't take a lot of extra effort to offer your goods online as well. This is especially effective for locally made, unique, or specialty items.

If you can ship your items for a reasonable price to customers who can't find it anywhere else, it would be quite easy to make additional profits.

And whether you have an online OR offline business, eBay is a great place to clear out old stock, and overstocks.

The same goes for returns or damaged stock. As long as you're honest about the condition and pay attention to your customer service, you can start building a reputation in the eBay community that will lead to more sales down the road.

No matter what kind of business you have (even if you don't have your own business yet!), with a market of 193 million eager buyers just waiting for your offer, eBay is one of the easiest ways to develop an extra revenue stream and boost your sales and profits each year!

An ebook ghostwriter is a person that creates an ebook without expecting to receive credit for writing the book. An ebook, which is much like a hard-copy book but distributed in digital format, provides an excellent means for a business to promote its goods or services.

If you offer a good or service, you might want to consider hiring an ghostwriter to create an ebook that you can distribute for free which can substantially increase your number of customers and create strong partnerships with other businesses.

Hiring a ghostwriter is one marketing tool that many business owners are finding to a successful marketing tool. If you have a web site dedicated to selling herbal supplements, for example, you might hire a ghostwriter to write a book delivered in digital format about various herbal supplements and their benefits. By offering this ebook for free on your web site, you are improving the public perception of your business.

Of course, you do not have to give your book away for free. There are several businesses that make a steady flow of cash by offering digital books for sale. These come in both fiction and nonfiction and there is a developing fan-base of individuals that prefer to purchase their books in this way. In addition, offering your books in digital format can significantly decrease your overhead costs and increase your profit. Better yet, you can hire a ghostwriter to write the books for you and you will not have to put very much effort into the money-making venture at all!

Selecting a writer will have a great deal to do with the type of material you need written. If you are looking for a fictional book, for example, you will certainly want someone with experience writing successful fictional stories. If you are interested in hiring a writer to write non-fiction, on the other hand, you might want to hire someone that has experience in the subject matter. Or, you might hire someone that has written numerous articles even if he or she does not necessarily have experience writing ebooks.

Selecting a ghostwriter may also depend upon the length of your project. If you are looking for a small ebook on a simple subject, for example, you might not need someone that is overly experienced with writing. If you want a large, detailed book, on the other hand, it will be well worth paying the extras for a writer that knows how to take complex information and make it easy to read.

With the ever-growing popularity of the Internet, finding a ghostwriter is not as difficult as you might think. One method is to post your project on freelance sites across the Internet. Another option is to post your project on a bid board. By posting on a bid board, all of the freelance writers on the board can easily read your project specs and determine if they would be a good match. If they feel they can complete your project to your liking, they will then place a bid. You can follow this up by reading the portfolio they create on the bid board and reading the reviews they have received from other clients they have worked for on the board. In this way, your selection process becomes quick and easy.

What is the number 1 reason why most people will buy anything, what is the most important motivator of all for so many reasons and on so many levels?

We're talking about quality of life.

Let's face it, when it all comes down to the bottom line, the main reason most of us do anything, outside of those of us who spend our lives doing charity work, is that we want a better life for ourselves. We want to enhance our life and enjoy it to the best of our abilities. Not only for ourselves, but for our children as well.

We may not consciously say to ourselves when we go to purchase something that we are making this purchase because we want a better quality of life, but deep down inside that is exactly what is going on and to try to deny it would be pointless.

So, how can we, as marketers, capitalize and take advantage of this?

Well, the first thing YOU as a marketer must do is look at your product or service and honestly answer this question. "How can my product or service improve a person's quality of life?"

Simple enough question.

And if you know your product or service as well as you should, then you should have no trouble answering it. When you've done that, all you then have to do is take your answer and make it part of your ad or site itself. You need to let potential customers know how your product or service is going to give them a better quality of life.

For example. Let's say you're selling a home cure for acne. How can this give somebody a better quality of life? Many ways. For starters, they'll look better once they use your treatment so they'll feel better about themselves. They won't be self conscious about going out in public. Most likely they'll have an easier time meeting new friends or even that special friend. If this isn't an improved quality of life then I don't know what is. On top of that, they'll actually be healthier because of it.

What if you're promoting a money making opportunity, which so many of us do? Well, this is also very easy. What you do is not so much promote the opportunity but how that opportunity can make people more financially secure because of all the money they're going to make with it. This financial security will improve the quality of their life because they won't have to worry about not having the best food, clothes, medical care, shelter and other things. They'll be able to provide for themselves and their children. That's what this is all about.

If you can't look at your product or service and come up with at least three ways that it can improve the quality of somebody's life, then you really have to seriously reevaluate what you're selling. If you can't come up with anything good about it, how do you expect potential customers to be able to do the same?

Quality of life. It's the bottom line and the key to satisfying your customers.

Getting customers in your site should always be ranked as high as the importance of the quality and the excellence of the product and the services you provide. They should go hand in hand in providing your customers the satisfaction they get in exchange for the money they have paid for them. Customer service should as well be as fantastic so that the customers are provided with the same satisfaction.

One of the ways you can combine marketing and customer service is through opt-in marketing. With an opt-in list you get the opportunity to introduce your site and products on a good time basis. Opt-in marketing strategy is a marketing strategy that is virtually low cost and not time consuming. Here, you get the consent of your website visitors to subscribe to your newsletters and other promotional materials such as catalogs and free promotions.

Opt-in marketing uses your list of subscribers to send e-mail to. These e-mails will contain the materials you will send to your subscribers. It is essential that you present your promotional items in a manner that will catch the interest and the eye of your subscribers to keep them wanting for more. The best way to do this is to provide fun, entertaining and informational articles.

Well written articles full of content and useful information will help in building your list as more subscribers will be enticed your list. When they have read the samples of your contents in your sites, they will be intrigued as to what will come next. Subscribing to your newsletter will offer them a glimpse of what you have to offer next.

Many sites and companies have captured the importance of articles and this also aids in search engine optimization. As more people are heading towards the internet for their information needs, serving the right information to them via articles in your site will increase the flow of your website traffic. With more traffic, the percentage of your sales will grow. More sales turn into more profit.

There have been the rise for the importance of well written, information enriched and keyword packed articles for the content of their site as well as for newsletters. These articles provide the information many are seeking in the internet. If your site has them, more people will be going to your site for information and research.

Well written articles would also boost your sites reputation. If they are filled with many information you will be regarded as well informed and an expert on the subjects that you tackle. Your articles must be well researched so that the people will trust you. When you have gained their trust, they will always come for you for their needs on that subject.

In connection, you must write articles or commission them to tackle subjects that are closely connected with your type of business. If you have a site for a medicine tackling a certain disease, your articles must be about the diseases. Or if you sell materials for home improvements provide articles with those themes. Most articles searched for are tips, guidelines, methods, manuals and such. If you provide these articles to your customers and you have their trust, they will always go to your site for help and advice as well as for your products.

With the loyalty of these customers, they may subscribe to your opt-in list to receive all the information you have. If you provide them with the answers for that need, they will be happy to be receiving your newsletters as well as other promotional materials to keep them well informed. Others may even forward your newsletters to other people when they find a certain article interesting.

You should provide links in your newsletter so that when other people are reading it and wants to read more, they may click on the link and go to your site. With the articles you have in your site that are good, they may decide to sign up as well for your opt-in list. This will build your list and make it bigger.

Make sure to keep your subscribers happy and interested in your newsletters and promotional materials. Keep on posting and writing good articles for your site and newsletter. If you are not interested in writing them or if you just don't have the time, there are many available well experienced and knowledgeable writers available to help you out. This is an investment that will pay for itself in time.
